Top Summer Trend: The Button-Up Denim Skirt

It's a trend which has taken this summer by storm. The button-up denim skirt, originally a seventies attraction, has made its way up in the ranks of street and celebrity style. The handy button-up feature which has been added to the simple denim skirt, has not only sparked high fashion attention, but public attention too. Celebrities such as Alexa Chung and Claudia Heidi Klum have been sporting this fabulous trend.

Team this skirt with a basic crop top and sandals for the perfect summer outfit; or use its multi-way purpose and team with a denim shirt to pull off the full denim casual look.

This NoveDeModa featured product can be purchased easily from Topshop, and is frequently advertised by the brand

Street Style: Kendall Jenner

The model who is taking the fashion world by storm.

Kendall Jenner, at just the mere age of 19, has already successfully modeled for Fendi, Chanel, and Valentino, and regularly contributes to catwalk shows and fashion events. This girl has done a great deal in her nineteen years, but one thing that struck me most was her ability to style casual outfits and combine it with a chic, sophisticated edge.

If you haven't already seen her candids; she usually has a very smart/casual attitude to the clothing she wears when she's not modelling. Take a look at some of these photos;

Each outfit is just perfect :( she specifically uses her initiative to style her outfits and co-ordinate them very well. For example, in the photo above, she mixes plain pastels with a gold and black flat for contrast. At other times, its all about co-ordination. Take her black and white striped top, for example, she accessorizes using a black and gold belt, teaming the look with black jeans and a striped low cut top.

HOW TO GET THE LOOK

Hair: Either wear down, or in a small bun or high ponytail. No fuss, just plain and simple.
Makeup: Very plain. Nothing too fancy. No eye shadows, not even eyeliner - maybe not even makeup at all. A good bit of eyebrow pencil should be just fine.
Clothing: Lets take this look, for example.

Jeans: Topshop, £36.00

Belt: £26.00, notonthehighstreet.com
Casual Women's Black White Striped Chiffon Blouse Tops Long Sleeve Shirts S/M/LTop: £4.22, eBay!

It's pretty easy to achieve her looks. They are very simple.

Stay tuned for more!

Watermelon: My New Favorite Snacking Food!

After recently coming back from a hot, sunny holiday in Monaco, I had realized I put on a lot more weight then I actually thought. I was so annoyed - all that healthy eating for six weeks had been worth one week of holidaying, until I put it all back on again...

But, fear not!

For all you people out there who seem to put on weight by cravings and constant snacking, here is one food that will never fail to make you lose weight, whilst feeling full up. I've been addicted to watermelon, the lovely red fruit encased in a green shell. here are some facts you may find surprising about the fruit:

  • Watermelon is an ideal health food because it doesn’t contain any fat or cholesterol, is high in fiber and vitamins A & C and is a good source of potassium.
  • Not only does it quench your thirst, it can also quench inflammation that contributes to conditions like asthma, atherosclerosis, diabetes, colon cancer, and arthritis.
  • Every part of a watermelon is edible, even the seeds and rinds.

  • With this in mind, think about buying watermelon next to you make your weekly shop. They are great for losing a few pounds before your holidays!

My Top 5 Holiday Beauty MUST-HAVES!

Summer is already upon us, and each year I promise myself I'm gonna go to the gym, take up an activity I've never done, and get a summer job. None of them ever seem to work out. Which is a shame, but an unfortunate reality for most of us :(

Alas, whether you're going abroad or not, I've created my Top 10 Beauty Favorites for soaking up the sunshine and relaxing in the heat (if it's even hot, that is!)

      1. LOREAL SUBLIME BRONZE TANNING FACE & BODY WIPES
Over the years, I've tried my fair share of tanning wipes. Like many of us, I'm not that great at self-tanning; always seems to go streaky on the legs and patchy on the neck :( But Loreal have continued their product of Sublime Bronze Tanning Wipes. These are an excellent alternative to mousse or creams, and their easy-application method of simply wiping your body over is super-easy. I preferably use these for my face only, as it gives me an all-round deep sun-kissed glow. I have tried the body wipes also, and these give the same effect however slightly lighter. These are perfect for the paler kind, at £2.42.
      Buy them HERE.

      2. MAC CHERISH MATTE FINISH LIPSTICK
I am a huge fan of MAC. Literally. I shop online there almost every day searching for new lippys and foundations to try. But one of my ultimate favorites of all time is CHERISH. Even the word is beaut! Perfect for baking in the summer sun, this peachy, orange toned lipstick is perfect for all skin types. At £14.50 a stick, this is an absolute bargain for what you get. Mine has lasted since the beginning of February. Perfect colour, and matte finish too, meaning it stays on for hours!

      Buy this shade HERE.

      3. FREEDERM SPOT-CLEARING FACIAL WIPES
For all the spot-prone teens out there, including me, I had been searching for ages for some kind of facial wipe which prevented or helped spots dissapear. I am already a huge fan of the Freederm Fast Track spot clearing gel which is amazing - so I thought I'd try out the facial wipes to match.
      And they're just as good!
Perfect for giving the skin a deep cleanse, clearing away all residue of makeup and dirt on your skin.

At just £2.72 for 25 wipes, this is definitely a beauty must-have for the summer heat! Buy them HERE.

      4. BARRY  M HIGH SHINE GELLY NAIL POLISH
This nail polish is perfect for hot summer days when normal nail polish just won't do. Great sleek finish, and comes in a variety of funky summer colors.
Available in most drugstores, but you can buy it online, here.

      5. REN 1-MINUTE FACIAL
REN, a particularly pricey brand, has opened its doors to VOGUE. Me, looking to subscribe to VOGUE, found an amazing deal online; 10 issues for just £19.99 along with a free gift of REN one-minute facial. Well worth the price. Tried it as soon as I got it; its facial scrub finish is very easy to apply, and laves your skin feeling super-soft and silky!

At £32.00 per tube, its worth the money. Buy it on their website.

Hope this has helped you - go out and try some of these products, they're well worth the money and will last you all summer if not half the year!

      Valentino Couture Collection Fall 2015/16

This month has seen many of the top designers showcase their new couture collections, but one I found most fascinating was Valentino. Me, already being a Valentino fan just had to take a look on their website at their new products. Pricey, however this collection, labelled "Unexpected Sensuality" had viewers captured at the catwalk event.

I was also very impressed with the unique music selection. 'The Heart Asks for Pleasure First/Promise' is a fantastic piece of composure by Michael Nyman. It reflected the clothing beautifully as the music sped up as the event progressed.

      Hats off to you, Valentino!

Watch the video here, or go to their website to view the collection.

Monaco: Top Destination Pick: MUST SEE AREAS

      MUST SEE AREAS OF MONACO

Not a city to be considered 'affordable' I must say, however Monte Carlo in Monaco is certainly 'the place to be' this summer. I recently took a trip to Monte Carlo, curious to find out its history and the 'glamour' it oozes.

And boy were those travel guides right.

As soon as I entered, the most glitzy, sporty cars rolled up outside the station, the hotel, and the harbor. Lamborghini's, Rolls Royce's', Porsche's, Ferrari's, Bentley's, Maserati's, the lot. Cars like that are seen in Monte Carlo as much as a Ford Focus is seen here in the UK.

Monaco is the worlds second smallest country, following Vatican City, with more millionaires in a square mile than anywhere in the world. It's extremely clean, hygienic, and civilized (no graffiti, loud people or littered streets). It's immaculate, in fact. Great for people who want to get away from the loudness of other main cities like New York.
And what better location to be in? The south of France for starters, which receives beautiful weather through-out the summer. It's also an 18 minute train journey away from North Italy, and about 30 minutes from Cannes, which holds its annual Cannes Film Festival.

If you're travelling to Monaco or are thinking about it, here are some top tips on places to go, what to do, and what to wear in the summer months.

      MUST SEE AREAS

      1. Monte Carlo Yacht Harbor
This is an extremely beautiful part of the area. The yacht harbor, hosts to some of the worlds most expensive yachts ever, all located in a large harbor overlooking the city of Monaco. You can walk along this harbor, as did I, admiring the massive yachts and wishing I lived the good life! (There are also plenty of rich men to admire, too :)) Monte Carlo also hosts its annual Yacht show here, so be sure to be in Monaco for the event.

      2. The Monte Carlo Casino
This had to be the most extravagant part of Monaco. In the center of Monte Carlo, the Casino which was built in the early 18th Century still lies, where wealthy people come to gamble (and tourists come to take photos). If your looking to find some sporty cars, this is your place. Full of them. Its also extremely beautiful like the harbor, especially the architecture and old buildings which surround the casino. If you walk a little further up, you will reach designer shops, which, I must say, brought me a lot of joy indeed. Too expensive however, but great for window shopping.

      3.  Monte Carlo Opera House
A great place to explore the music of Monaco, however it was close when I arrived. You can visit the opera house for an small expense, but all worth it.

      4. The Grand Prix "Hairpin Bend" of Monaco
If your a Formula 1 fan, this certainly is a treat. The famous Hairpin bend in the Monaco Grand Prix sits right outside the famous Fairmont Hotel - a fantastic place to stay if you want luxury treatment. Many people take photos of this and it is a very important part of Monaco's heritage.

That's it for must see areas, however Monaco as a whole is extremely beautiful, and so anywhere you go will surely be magnificent! Tune in next week, where I discuss some great style ideas on what to wear to Monaco, including their formal dress and casual wear!

      Thanks fashionistas!
